AI as a tool in the architecture processAI4SWARC is a newly developed training on using AI as a tool in the architecture process. The focus is on how AI-based tools can concretely support everyday architectural work—from requirements analysis to decision-making and documentation.
The AI4SWARC module addresses the use of artificial intelligence as a tool to support the architecture process—unlike the SWARC4AI module, which treats AI as part of the target architecture. The goal of this module is to enable architects and technical leaders to use generative AI and other AI technologies purposefully to make analysis, design, decision-making, and documentation tasks in daily architectural work more efficient and of higher quality. Participants also gain guidance on how architecture work can be reimagined in light of current AI developments, including associated risks, traceability, and ethical and regulatory guidelines.
What can you expect? You will receive practical guidance on how AI-supported analysis and decision support can be applied in the architecture process. One focus is on generative AI for architecture documentation, such as ADRs, models, and reviews.
Additionally, the course covers prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and automation ideas, as well as responsible handling of risks, traceability, ethics, and regulatory frameworks.
Participant prerequisites
Solid understanding of software architecture and typical analysis, design, decision-making, and documentation tasks in daily architecture work
Practical experience in requirements analysis, architectural documentation (e.g., ADRs), and review and communication situations in project contexts
Willingness to use AI as a tool in the process and critically evaluate results for risks and traceability
Your benefits
Understand how to effectively use AI as an assistant in the architecture process
