Friction Wear and Wear Protection 2017: Deadline Call for Abstracts 30. October 2016 -
Seminar / Kurs
von Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde e.V.
Downsizing of mechanical components and the application of novel, greener lubricants as a means to improve energy efficiency and to meet the strict environmental regulations in mechanical machines and manufacturing processes comes with the danger of reducing the wear life of sliding surfaces. New materials and coatings must therefore withstand harsher tribological conditions and at the same time provide lower friction than ever. This leaves no room for trial-and-error solutions and requires a deep understanding of the underlying microscopic mechanisms in the tribological contact.
The 2017 Friction, Wear and Wear protection symposium focuses on the latest developments in materials and coatings development for ultra-low friction and wear, as well as friction materials, polymers and PMCs. Since 2008, it is held every three year under the auspices of the technical committee Materials aspects of tribology and machining of the German materials society, DGM.
