• Install and deploy TotalStorage Productivity Center (TPC) and configure user roles.
• Configure previously installed CIM Agents for subsystems and switches.
• Perform in-band and out-of-band discoveries
• Perform probes for hosts/fabrics/subsystems/tape libraries
• Create/delete volumes etc in the Disk Manager
• Perform switch and subsystem performance collection
• Navigate in the Topology Viewer to understand what is going on in the SAN
• Configure TPC for problem determination and identify SAN network bottlenecks
• Perform SAN fabric configuration
• Monitor storage utilization within the SAN

TotalStorage Productivity Center (TPC) is designed to provide an integrated set of software offerings that manage storage end-to-end, from the host/application to the target storage device in a heterogeneous platform environment. It is targeted at storage administration, providing management capabilities to increase storage administrator productivity, increase storage utilization and decrease application outages. It integrates existing management software offerings that provide disk and tape subsystem configuration, performance and replication management, SAN fabric management, and host-centered usage of storage from the perspective of the database application or file system.

TPC provides a comprehensive common workspace to ease administration of the storage environment which includes single-sign on and role-based security across the product set.

This course is designed to introduce the participants to TPC and educate them on how to install, configure and use the product in a heterogeneous environment. The course will consist of theory sessions followed by hands-on sessions where participants will have to opportunity to experiment with the product.
